• Ideas for the year:
• Massachusetts Alternative Septic System Test Center. Liz will email them. Potential field
trip?
• Spring: Mike Pelikan from Biodiversity Works about native bees? Alex will reach
out.
• Another food event? Ann Stone can help with that.
• Reducing light pollution on Cape Cod: Sierra Club speakers. Suggested by Pam Polloni.
#3 Event planning
• Bike repair cafe in early May? In advance of bike to work day on May 15th. Could ask the
Falmouth bike lab people if any of their volunteers would want to help.
• Fall repair cafe again
• Winter duck walk in the next few weeks
• Plant walk? Invasive/edible?
• Invasive plant removal
• Seb tree planting? Early spring
• Earth Day 2026: theme is “Our Power, Our Planet”. Plan to do the bike repair the week after
because Earth Day is during school break week.
Winter: Duck walk at noon-1 on Tuesday, March 9th
Spring: Native bees LnL, bike repair cafe, tree planting? Invasive plant removal?
Summer: Bird walk, alternative septic system LnL?, (Have summer events during the work day, use
Clark 5 with nice balcony)
Fall: Repair cafe, invasive plant removal, possibly food-based LnL?
#4 Bird deterrent discussion
• Window tape can be expensive and may interfere with energy efficiency treatment.
• Alex found another solution from Cornell where you can hang braided rope along windows.
That’s what they use for their buildings.
• We could possibly use old line from rigging shop, etc.
• Alex will look into this solution and will check in with those who have seen bird strikes on
campus
