#1 Recycling- Behind the Scenes – Lunch n Learn with Kari Parcell – Friday, Nov. 15th 12:15 Carriage House. Kari’s presentation was well attended 24+ people and we learned a few things:
- clean recycled materials well (one contaminated bin can ruin it for a whole truck load!)
- do not put shredded paper in the recycle bins – contact smadsen@whoi.edu if you need information
- cost will increase. Right now we recycle for free, expect to be charged in the future
Action:
- Generate Headlines submissions for new recycling information (i.e. shredded paper) (volunteer?)
- Electronics upcycling flyer – being created by Seb + Helen
- Recycling Pipette tips + boxes with USA Scientific – pdf has been loaded to our STF page https://web.whoi.edu/sustainability/initiatives/waste-recycling/recycling/
Contact (Nick Putnam, nputnam@usascientific.com) if you are interested in participating.
