#1 Beach cleanups (first Thursday of the month at noon)

#2 Lunch and Learn updates
• Taste of Health was good food and information, but attendance was low, despite RSVPs.
It’s hard to get people to show up for summer events, especially after work. So we can
consider this for future events. Good lessons: fiber, reading labels, more.
• Next LnL: Alex will talk to Megan and Liz will talk to Zach from CES consultants.

#3 Event planning
• Repair cafe:
• Ann will add it to the AVAST happenings email
• Could they use tech flex?
• Liz and Lanie can likely volunteer for clean up, etc.
• Alex will lead a bird walk next Tuesday, 8/26 at 8 am. It will be in Headlines and
• KidWind 2025 was successful. Alex went to Mass Maritime and gave a presentation for
the students.
• Mass energy interns

#4 Garden/landscape updates
• Very successful garden year. Liz will try to get a picture for Fadime.
• Big patches of Japanese knotweed behind the tennis court
• Rose garden cleanup week of Oct 13th?
• Seb wants to schedule planting pawpaw and Kousa dogwood in the meadow by LOSOS
for October
• Capital event on October 17th will use all of WHOI
