● Garden update
○ So far in the meadow behind LOSOS: 4 fruit trees and a birch (moved last Fall from behind Clark bldg). Fruit trees are struggling.
○ Budget shortage, need alternative way to get native trees/shrubs (no pitch pines because they get borers). Seb can donate 2 Pawpaw trees, 1 Elderberry. Are there other folks who can donate trees or bushes (preferably native and resistant to drought) ?
○ Trying to provide shade for people to meet outside in summer and promote biodiversity.
○ Could use new area behind Redfield building as template for bench area.
TO DO: Seb makes a drawing draft and keeps in contact with Rick to look for more plants and trees. Then reach out through headlines for tree donations.
● Van pool
○ At least 2 employees have expressed interest in a van pool between Sandwich/Mashpee and WHOI. Is there more interest and should we send a survey ? Are there experiences to build on ?
○ Quote ( Links are on Sustainability website):
