#1 WSS (WHOI Social Sustainability) – Events that increase social connections were discussed, especially since mask mandates have ended. There’s lot of enthusiasm for planning events!
· Repair Café – scheduled for Thursday, May 12th 4-6:00pm
· Electric Vehicle Drive Green Event – early summer possibly. Test driving a VW EV was mentioned
· Lawn Games – Any WHOI employee can use the lawn games stored in the 2 recreation sheds. It’s a great way to bring your committee, department, affinity group, or friends together.
· Recreation (annual) lunch n learn –recruit for summer sports and activities. Boat slip info can be found in Headlines
· Hiking – Lauren would like to lead a weekend hike this spring (date tbd)
Action:
· Repair Café – *Date Change -send out group email to get the ball rolling for May 12th in Avast (SM)
· Fill out the Avast form/application for May 12th date (SM-done)
· Reach out to Justin Ossolinski about Recreation Lunch n Learn (SM) – He’s sending me dates
· Contact MassEvolves for help planning a Drive Green event
· Activity Fair in early Fall – STF will set up a poster
# 2 WHOI’s GHG Report results and Energy Plan power point to WHOI Leadership – Focus on Energy Master Plan (EMP).
· EMP Presentation is scheduled for Thursday, March 31 at 2:00 via Zoom (time changed from 2:30 to 2:00)
· Cape Light Compact may offer funding to help with cost – they offered $10k towards EMP cost
· Greenhouse Gas report for 2021 data available (discuss during next month’s meeting)
Action:
· Share CarbonTracker greenhouse gas report with STF (SM)
· Update team after the EMP presentation on March 31 (SM)
#3 Energy Updates: solar, fleet vehicles, LEDs (more money is available from CLC)
· WHOI’s fleet vehicles – PowerOptions is helping us with the assistance program https://www.massfleetadvisor.org/
· Heat pump custom rebate from Nat Grid – waiting for $ rebate information
· LEDs – replace lighting fixtures in as many buildings as possible while CLC $ is there
· Solar – Meteor House and next project CRL-RCRC + possibly NQF (expected this summer 2022)
Action:
· Fill out PowerOptions fleet vehicle assessment application (SM-done)
· Ping Nat Grid about heat pump custom rebate (SM)
· Walk additional buildings with Wicked Watts to identify new LED projects (SM)
· Contact ReVision Energy for updated QRF proposal (SM)
#4 Fun Stuff Updates - We discussed the following items:
· Instagram account – Mallory will share Stories periodically. Please follow us at sustainablewhoi and think about sharing. Next Insta meeting is Tuesday, April 5th at 10am.
· Bee update – hive 2 location in Village (located by upper lawn)
· Pollinator Garden infographic -Liz posted temp graphic – Carpenters helped!
· Garden Plot…Seb handed the leadership torch to Taylor Heyl.
Action:
· Contact Taylor Heyl if you’d like to be on the Garden Plot team (All)
· Link the pollinator garden QR code to the STF webpage and create 2 garden links: Pollinator + Garden Plot (DinaP)
· Create Garden folder in google Sustainability File (SM-done)

# 5 Beach Clean-up Shore Lab - Monthly – We need Volunteers to join the leaders! STF is partnering with T3C + WHOI neighbors to clean up the beach on the first Thursday of each month at noon. Meet at Gate by Shore Lab. Leaders for Beach Cleanups include:

We are working with the Communications Dept to promote Earth Day – “Be Green Go Blue”
