July 8, 2015 at the Captain Kidd

BIG announces a happy hour event on Wednesday, July 8 at the Captain Kidd (Woods Hole) to meet and learn from Joanna Lowell, a PhD graduate who has used her technical training to bring science out of the lab. Following her PhD in biochemistry, Joanna has worked in the non-profit sector to promote research on neglected tropical diseases and eventually got a Masters in Public Health. She now works on USAID-funded projects to help countries around the world conduct surveys to assess fertility rates, child mortality, HIV prevalence, and malaria prevalence. Joanna provides a unique perspective on applied science and career paths outside of academia.
