The Committee for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

In 2019, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announced the formation of a new Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (CDEI), to foster a culture of inclusion in our pursuit of scientific excellence. The CDEI coordinates with the CDEIO and existing committees and structures, within WHOI and the Woods Hole community, in this work. The committee represents individuals in diverse positions at the Institution: Joint Program Students, Post-docs, members of the Scientific, Technical, and Exempt Administrative Staffs, and members of the Graded Administrative and Research Staffs.  The full committee meets monthly for discussion of current concerns.  Additionally, the CDEI maintains working groups which meet separately and report out to the full committee with updates on their progress.
