To exemplify the Institution’s continuing and growing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Room Naming Working Group is looking for nominations of people from under-represented groups that have made important contributions to oceanographic research for naming currently unnamed conference rooms at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
Nominations will be conducted in 10 cycles over five years. Any WHOI affiliate or alumni can nominate candidates for consideration. The nomination process will be on a rolling basis for approximately six months. An announcement will be made when there will be one week before the nomination cycle closes. At the close of each cycle, the Room Naming Working Group will review nominations and select the top five candidates, which will then be voted on by the WHOI community. Candidates nominated in previous nomination cycles will be considered for each subsequent cycle.
