WHSTEP Science Safari 2013

Wastewater Management: Past, Present and Future
Falmouth Wastewater Treatment Facility
154 Blacksmith Shop Road
Thursday, April 25, 2013
4:00-5:15 PM

Amy Lowell, Falmouth's Assistant Wastewater Manager, will guide participants through the Town’s main wastewater treatment facility, outlining the treatment processes and discussing the history and future of wastewater management in Falmouth.
Participants will see some of the microscopic life that thrives in the treatment tanks, the state-of-the-art computer system that monitors the facilities, and view the treatment processes in action.

Not only is wastewater a timely issue on Cape Cod, it's also a great STEM subject. All teachers welcome, K-12. The safari is free.

Please register by contacting Kama Thieler, WHSTEP Administrator, kthieler@whoi.edu or 508-289-3478.

Participants should wear clothes and shoes appropriate for the weather and for going up and down metal-grating stairs.
Detailed driving directions to the WWTF can be found here.
