Meet on back Redfield lawn &#8211; Village<\/li>\n<li>Ice Skating \u2013Friday, Dec 2 @ 7:40-9:00pm \u2013 Falmouth Ice Arena<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Action:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add events \u2013 contact Steph if you would like to lead one! (STF Members)<\/li>\n<li>Submit Events to Joanne Tromp for Headline (SM \u2013 done)<\/li>\n<li>Submit Events to Events Editor (Joanne) the day before or day of (SM-ongoing)<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>#2\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0<b>Strategic Plan + Charrettes \u2013\u00a0<\/b>We discussed possible STF focus points to champion at the upcoming charrettes scheduled for Nov. 7, 14 (charrettes are mini, townhall, follow-up meetings during which Mark Abbot would like to hear our ideas regarding the Strategic Plan)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>List of topics suggested were:\n<ul>\n<li>Renewables + energy efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Land use\/management\/landscaping<\/li>\n<li>Space\/Building Management<\/li>\n<li>Supply chain<\/li>\n<li>Bikes<\/li>\n<li>Transportation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Action:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Finalize list of sustainable topics to address at charrettes (STF members send to group or Steph)<\/li>\n<li>Draft comments\/suggestions you would like to present at the charrettes (STF members send to group)<\/li>\n<li>Meet ahead of charrette and prioritize\u00a0 topics so that we have a clear, consistent message (STF members)<\/li>\n<li>Who can attend and convey suggestions?\u00a0 Nov 7 =\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nov 14=\u00a0 (let Steph know)<\/li>\n<li>Formulate ideas for Green Space and send suggestions + exemplar links to Colin Reed (creed@whoi.edu)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>#3\u00a0 PermaCulture\u00a0<\/b>\u2013 We briefly discussed the concept of PermaCulture &#8211; Redesigning landscapes to maximize water retention and increase native vegetation. STF members are very interested in hearing more!<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Action:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Invite Diane to present the concept after the holidays (SM- set up date + time)<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>#4 :\u00a0<\/b><b>Solar Canopy update \u2013\u00a0<\/b>Steph summed up her conversation with Beaumont Solar who explained the complexities of installing solar carports\/canopies in the Clark lot 1. Lot trends N-S, 2. Would need dual canopies \u2013 see Hydroids for example, 3. Rebates\/incentives expire in Dec. but they could do a PPA (they own but we get discount of utility) \u2013 50% of project would have to be installed by May to qualify for MA rebates. It\u2019s possible but we\u2019d have to act fast\u2026or pursue alternative solar projects this fall.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Action:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continue discussing solar possibilities \u2013 Fenno rooftop? (STF members)<\/li>\n<li>Reach out to Falmouth Ice Arena, specifically Paul Moore, youth hockey director\u00a0<a title=\"Click to email this person\" href=\"mailto:mailto:jtheaveymetal@aol.com?subject=\">pmoorzy@aol.com<\/a>\u00a0(PP, AH)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>#5 Bikes\u00a0<\/b>\u2013The Loaner Program run by the International Committee needs adoption. We discussed where this program needs to be \u2018housed.\u2019 Several suggested take it to the Staff Council to solicit recommendations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Susan Mills is presently volunteering as new coordinator, Willie Hatfield is fixing the bikes, and Stephanie is handling datasheets + money<\/li>\n<li>Liability waiver was previously drafted by Deb Hamel and external attorney, but it needs to be updated. Chris Land has the document and will update soon , after Staff Council discusses. (CL)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Action:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bring discussion to Staff Council (DD + CR)<\/li>\n<li>Finalize liability waiver (CL)<\/li>\n<li>Solicit volunteer help to run the program (SM contact Joanne Tromp)<\/li>\n<li>Consider fixing up Crowell Barn basement where 25 bikes are stored (DD)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>#7 CDs\/DVDs Recycling\u00a0<\/b>\u2013We are challenged with what to do with old CDs +DVDs at Whoi.\u00a0 We can\u2019t recycle them in our Single-Stream Recycling Program, thus we are trying to find a repository for recycling.
