But often it works well to get a<br \/>\ngroup to show up. Students, postdocs, communications, an ERG?<br \/>\n\u2022 Dec 5 &#8211; Alex<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>\n<strong>#2 Lunch and Learns<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2022 Dr. Kumara &#8211; January, after work around 5 pm, LnL + potluck event. Plant-based foods<br \/>\n\u2022 Stephanie Madsen and Mary Ryther &#8211; Alex will email to find their November availability<br \/>\n\u2022 Megan Amsler &#8211; heat pumps, home energy infrastructure, community solar<br \/>\n\u2022 If Stephanie and Mary can&#8217;t do November, see if Megan could do Nov\/early<br \/>\nDec. Otherwise, maybe March\/April next year?<br \/>\n\u2022 At our Lunch and Learns, we should promote STF activities to get the word out more<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>\n<strong>#3 Garden\/landscape updates<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2022 LOSOS meadow<br \/>\n\u2022 Birch tree was saved from behind Clark and moved to the meadow by LOSOS<br \/>\n\u2022 Is Clark funding available? Follow up with Dave. This would be something to get<br \/>\npeople to spend more time at the office, so it&#8217;s in the interest of Facilities.<br \/>\n\u2022 Invasive removal: Going well! Removed bittersweet and porcelainberry from next to Clark<br \/>\nlot and on the hill between Clark and Fye.<br \/>\n\u2022 What might be able to go in place of the invasives on that hill and also behind Clark<br \/>\nwhere a bunch of porcelainberry was just mowed? Kai will check on how much it<br \/>\ncosts to replant with natives.<br \/>\n\u2022 Can we put in a tree next to Clark lot where there used to be an elm? Rick was supportive<br \/>\nlast year but we haven&#8217;t followed up on it yet.<br \/>\n\u2022 There&#8217;s another tree behind Clark that will need to be moved: Kousa dogwood, diseaseresistant.<br \/>\nSeb is looking into whether we can move it rather than cut it down.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>\n<strong>#4 Funding opportunities<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2022 Facilities funding opportunity &#8211; STF list is on Google Drive and facilities will look into<br \/>\nhow it lines up with their goals and will fit into funding.<br \/>\n\u2022 Link to document:\nhttps:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/<br \/>\n1HiuX_hseK2S3W5MHG9yliWEc15CE_edm9LLu4KFRz6U\/edit?usp=sharing\n\u2022 Lots of history on the website, so can look there for other ideas.<br \/>\n\u2022 DEI funding opportunity &#8211; STF could become an employee resource group (ERG) and<br \/>\nreceive funding and structure from DEI. Requirements would be having flagship events<br \/>\neach year and meeting with Natalie.<br \/>\n\u2022 Natalie wanted us to change the &#8220;task force&#8221; part of the name. Dina points out<br \/>\nthat we already have logo, branding, etc., so that would be pretty inconvenient.<br \/>\nSeb points out that our work is &#8220;short-term&#8221; compared to climate change, so the<br \/>\ntask force name does make sense!<br \/>\n\u2022 We will move forward with both funding opportunities to see what next steps would be.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>\n<strong>#5 New business<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2022 Alex and Seb met with Stephanie Madsen and Mary Ryther from town.
