We plan to add 13 new bikes to the fleet<\/li>\n<li>Bike to Work Day- National Event is the 18<sup>th<\/sup>. Please record your trip on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/baystatecommute.com\/\">https:\/\/baystatecommute.com\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Plan Try It Day with MassRides \u2013 TBD \u2013 Kyle is very busy this month<\/li>\n<li>Plan another Meet Your Match with MassRides (TBD)<\/li>\n<li>The Falmouth Bike Safety Sessions will be held May 30th and June 19th 6-7:30pm at the Gus Canty Center. Type up Template (SM)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>#5\u00a0 Gardens at WHOI<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>STF garden plot \u2013 we are 9<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0on the waiting list<\/li>\n<li>Garden volunteer day (tbd)\u2013 help with common areas and plant flowers around perimeter? Discuss ideas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There doesn\u2019t seem to be a lot of traction on this, as in the gardeners with plots don\u2019t seem to need help. But we are willing to help with common areas after the harvest, sometime in November.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>#6 Freezer energy efficiency initiative \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>We met with representative from Stirling ultra-low temp freezer manufacturer.\u00a0 Stirling freezers are 75% more efficient than many of the ultra low freezers on campus<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Baseline Data has been collected by DMI engineering. Meters are presently in 4 Redfield freezers and collecting energy data for 1 week, plus monitoring how often the freezer doors are opened.<\/li>\n<li>Based on baseline data relative to Stirling energy statistics, Cape Light Compact\/Eversource will offer us a rebate per freezer purchased (tbd). This could add up to big energy reductions in Redfield and big $ savings!<\/li>\n<li>If you are interested in a new energy efficient freezer and rebate, please contact smadsen@whoi.edu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Action:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Based on the meter data and energy savings, CLC is offering $3,000 rebate towards a Stirling purchase<\/li>\n<li>Consider additional WHOI\u00a0 internal rebate options (tbd)<ins cite=\"mailto:Sebastien%20BIgorre\" datetime=\"2018-05-18T13:18\"><\/ins><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0#7 New Business<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We didn\u2019t have much time to address these items, thus I\u2019ll put them on next month\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lunch + Learns \u2013 Simon Thorold + Diana Wickman<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mary O\u2019Donnell \u2013 Kingston MA wind, solar &#8211; innovation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Eversource \u2013 EV Ready grant. Eversource wants businesses to install EV changing stations, thus they are offering to cover costs of trenching, wiring, paving and labor. The Moraine Trail is about nine miles long and follows the hilly and forested terrain of the Buzzards Bay Moraine. The hike will cover the entire trail and will take about 4.5 to 5 hours, including a BYO picnic lunch along the way. Difficulty level: moderate.<\/p>\n<p>Meet: at Goodwill Park in Falmouth at 9:30 am.<\/p>\n<p>(Entering from Gifford Street, go 0.3 miles to the parking lot on the right.) Once everyone is assembled, we will carpool to the start of the hike at Route 151, just east of Route 28 (highway).<\/p>\n<p>Approximate schedule:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 9:30 Meet at Goodwill Park<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 9:45 Carpool to start of hike<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 10:00 Begin hiking south<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 2:30-3:00 Finish at Goodwill Park<\/p>\n<p>Bring plenty of water and lunch.<\/p>\n<p>If it is raining or the weather forecast calls for rain, the hike will be cancelled.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sept 15+16 Celebrating The Sea Around Us<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Woods Hole Village Celebration!
