STF is partnering with T3C + WHOI neighbors to clean up the beach on the first Thursday of each month at noon. Meet at Gate by Shore Lab.<\/strong> Leaders and team sponsors for Beach Cleanups include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sept 2, Thursday &#8211; Committee of Diversity, Equity + Inclusion are sponsors<\/li>\n<li>Oct 7, Thursday &#8211; WHOI&#8217;s Communications (Comms) Team are sponsors<\/li>\n<li>Nov 4, Thursday &#8211; Accounting Dept (Bethany will confirm)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Recruit members from CDEI for Beach Cleanup (SM + all)<\/li>\n<li>Make flyer for CDEI + Comms sponsored cleanups (Helen)<\/li>\n<li>Confirm that WHOI&#8217;s Accounting Dept will sponsor the Nov 4 Beach Cleanup (Bethany)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Tour scheduled for Thursday, August 26<sup>th<\/sup> from 4:00-6:00pm<\/li>\n<li>Affordable living discussion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Send out flyer to STF (SM- done)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>#4 \u00a0Upcycling in Dorms with Grad Student help &#8211; <\/strong>Iulia Streanga<strong> + <\/strong>Michael Dotzel<\/p>\n<p>The JP Students, Facilities + APO Housing are organizing a type of <strong><em>Free-Shop<\/em><\/strong> for the WHOI student community at key dates in the academic year (for example, first and second semester move-in dates), during which incoming students (and maybe also students already based at WHOI) can come and choose items left behind by students who move out of Oyster Pond and other WHOI accommodation.\u00a0 Surplus items will be donated to ReStore and the Fal Hospital Thrift Store.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FreeShop will be held Sept. 11 (11:00 am) at Oyster Pond Dorm D<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Create donation bins with signage in front of Dorm D (SM- done)<\/li>\n<li>Create flyers to advertise the Free Shop Event (HH + Iulia)<\/li>\n<li>Check on funding for breakfast snacks (Tatiana)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>#5 \u00a0\u00a0WHOI&#8217;s Your Buddy Program update <\/strong>-The goal is to create a more diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environment at WHOI.
