We take bullying and harassment very seriously and expect that a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment will be maintained at all times.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/oVjHRhP8bHvCiyfz6\" target=\"_self\" role=\"button\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tReport Incident\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n<p>1) You can use the button above to report disturbing and\/or inappropriate behavior that you experience directly or witness happening to someone else at an OCB event.<\/p>\n<p>2) Or you can email (ocb_news@whoi.edu) or 3) speak directly to an OCB staff member ANY TIME if you experience or witness any form of misconduct, including harassment, bullying, and\/or other behaviors or comments that violate OCB&#8217;s Code of Conduct.<\/p>\n<p>Both the report form and the ocb_news@whoi.edu email go directly, and only to the three project office staff members Heather, Mai, and, Mary.<\/p>\n\t<h3>Expected behavior<\/h3>\n<p>Maintain a respectful and collegiate atmosphere at all times &#8211; critique ideas, not individuals<\/p>\n<p>Be aware of your surroundings and of your fellow participants &#8211; as a bystander, you are expected to alert OCB staff of troubling behavior &#8211; bystander confidentiality will be maintained to the fullest extent possible<\/p>\n<p>Respect and obey the rules and policies of meeting venues, hotels, and other contracted facilities<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>OCB does not tolerate<\/h3>\n<p>Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or discrimination in any form<\/p>\n<p>Physical or verbal abuse of any participant<\/p>\n<p>Deliberate disruption of in person or virtual presentations (oral, poster, web), phone or web meetings, or any other forms of communication<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Consequences and reporting unacceptable behavior<\/h3>\n<p>Anyone requested to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately; failure to do so will result in removal from the OCB activity without refund<\/p>\n<p>If unacceptable behavior of a participant compromises the comfort or safety of another participant, the perpetrator may be dismissed from the activity without warning or refund, at the discretion of OCB staff<\/p>\n<p>If you are subject to or witness any form of unacceptable behavior, please immediately notify an OCB staff member in person or by email (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.us-ocb.org\/about\/project-office\/\">OCB Project Office contacts<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>If you experience or witness behavior that constitutes an immediate or serious threat to public safety, please contact emergency services (dial 911 in U.S.)<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a good time to remind you about OCB&#8217;s Code of Conduct (below) for meetings and activities.
