titan002.whoi.edu is a shared memory server used in the Biology/Bioinformatics department.

  • 8.7TB of home directory space shared with titan (/home/username) 500GB allocation
  • 4.6TB user space (/users/username)
  • 37TB OrangeFS parallel filesystem scratch space (/pscratch/username)
  • 2.0TB of NetApp Network Attached Storage (/nas01/username) Additional disk space on the NetApp can be purchased for $100/TB/year.

Setting up your software environment

titan002 uses modules to load the appropriate environment variables for your computations.

  • To list available modules: module avail
  • To load a module: module load module-name
  • To unload a module: module unload module-name
  • To list currently loaded modules: module list
  • To unload all modules: module purge

Running jobs on titan

There is currently no job scheduler on titan. Please use care when running jobs on titan to ensure that you are not exceeding the number of available processors, RAM or disk space.

  • To check available processors, use top
  • To check available RAM, use free
  • To check available disk space, use df -h
