They have an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencefromscientists.org\/lessons\">extensive list<\/a> of lesson plans that cover all variety of topics from DNA basics to physics.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/k12videos.mit.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\n\t\t\t\t<img src=\"http:\/\/web.whoi.edu\/big\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/89\/2017\/05\/MITK12-300x57.png\" alt=\"MITK12\" title=\"MITK12\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\tThe <a href=\"http:\/\/k12videos.mit.edu\/\">MIT +K12 project<\/a> seeks to change the perception of engineers and scientists in society and improve STEM education at the K-12 level by making MIT an accessible &#8220;experiential partner&#8221; for K-12 educators.<br \/>\nMIT students generate short (5 minute) videos to complement the work those educators are already doing in their classrooms.\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/cmore.soest.hawaii.edu\/education.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\n\t\t\t\t<img src=\"http:\/\/web.whoi.edu\/big\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/89\/2017\/05\/cmore-1.jpg\" alt=\"cmore\" title=\"cmore\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cmore.soest.hawaii.edu\/education.htm\">C-MORE<\/a>\u00a0(an NSF Science and Technology Center) is comprised of 6 partner institutions, including Woods Hole and MIT. C-MORE&#8217;s research mission focuses on microbial oceanography, but its education mission is much broader.\u00a0 C-MORE science kits are hands-on &#8220;labs in a box&#8221; on various topics in oceanography.\u00a0 Anyone can borrow these kits free of charge.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cmore.soest.hawaii.edu\/education\/teachers\/science_kits.htm\">Click here<\/a>\u00a0to request a kit or to view the materials online.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/www.massmarineeducators.org\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\n\t\t\t\t<img src=\"http:\/\/web.whoi.edu\/big\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/89\/2017\/05\/MME.png\" alt=\"MME\" title=\"MME\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.massmarineeducators.org\/index.php\">Massachusetts Marine Educators (MME)<\/a>\u00a0is a dynamic, grass roots organization of teachers, informal educators, students, educational institutions, and others. Browse their <a href=\"http:\/\/ma-marine-ed.org\/resources\/classroom-activities\/\">list<\/a> of classroom activities and demos from El Ni\u00f1o dynamics to plankton diversity.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosee.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\n\t\t\t\t<img src=\"http:\/\/web.whoi.edu\/big\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/89\/2017\/05\/cosee-2.jpg\" alt=\"cosee\" title=\"cosee\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosee.net\/\">COSEE<\/a>\u00a0has several centers around the country, including\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.whoi.edu\/cosee\/\">New England<\/a>. Each center is a consortium of ocean science research institutions, informal science education organizations, and formal education entities. They have extensive resources for educators and scientists centered around different <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosee.net\/resources\/themes\/\">topics<\/a>, from hurricanes to ocean acidification.<\/p>\n\t<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/sciinclassroom\/\">There&#8217;s a Scientist in my Classroom!<\/a><\/h4>\n\t<p>An offshoot of the &#8220;Telling your Story&#8221; workshop developed by COSEE, this group has continued bringing scientists into classrooms and provides several <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/sciinclassroom\/home\/resources-and-handouts\">resources and tips<\/a> for effective classroom visits.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Educational Resources Remote Teaching Are you teaching or doing outreach remotely?
