Hanumant Singh’s lab research interests include imaging and robotics underwater. Our group of students, post-docs and collaborators work on diverse interests including photomosaicking, visually based navigation, 3D image reconstruction, image segmentation and classification, and chemical sensors. We work with manned submersibles, remotely operated and tethered vehicles, autonomous underwater vehicles on different aspects of these systems including docking, navigation, manipulation and software for autonomous operations.
We pursue these interests across a variety of applications including marine geology and geophysics, marine biology, marine archaeology, and marine chemistry and geochemistry with a diverse set of collaborators from within and outside WHOI.
Our research continues to take us on expeditions all over the world.
